책 소개
A taxi driver’s private hallucination becomes a public fact only when other people begin to witness its bodily consequences. Built around seedpods, scattered fragments, vanished hair, and a black maw of light, this story turns ordinary Korean urban spaces into a study of disappearance and impossible regeneration.

After thirty years behind the wheel, a woman taxi driver begins to see a black spot in the sky: a toothless maw of light that no one else can witness. A strange song follows her from roadside walls into her apartment, repeating the image of a seedpod bursting and bodies scattering into thousands. As her hair vanishes overnight and the world around her breaks into fragments—fish tank, photographs, mirrors, human ties—the story traces the collapse of a woman whose private terror is gradually confirmed by the startled eyes of others. Regeneration, Scattered Fragments is a work of psychological and surreal literary fiction, set in ordinary Korean urban spaces yet driven by recurring images of disappearance, dispersal, and impossible rebirth, moving toward a final scene where accident, vision, and self-erasure become indistinguishable.

작가 소개
  • 작가Isophia
Isophia is a novelist with more than three decades of experience in literary writing. She holds a PhD in Literature, where her research focused on psychoanalytic readings of modern Korean fiction, drawing on Freud, Lacan, Julia Kristeva, and Slavoj Žižek.
Her fiction explores silence, memory, feminism, and the fragile intersections between the human and the technological. Across her work, she examines how language both reveals and conceals, how institutions shape intimate lives, and how the self endures within structures of loss and surveillance.
Writing in both Korean and English, she continues to pursue experimental forms that merge narrative, philosophy, and the unconscious—tracing the evolving relationship between human beings, technology, and the traces they leave behind in contemporary society.
